We're still here

I know I haven't posted in awhile and I don't want anyone to worry over us so I wanted to drop by and say HELLOOOO. We have just been busy and trying to keep things going the way they should be around here. We did get to take a little trip to a meeting in South Carolina over the weekend and it was GREAT!!!

I'll never forget the message that was preached on "Shut the door", especially since it's been proven so much around here recently. There is no way that I can relate on here what the message was as preached but I can tell you that God's mercies and blessings are constantly being poured out on my life and my family. The kids and I recently started a prayer journal because as we study our way through Daniel we were talking about different ways to help "grow" your faith, and one of those ways was to remember what the Lord has done for you in the past. I challenged the kids then to write down their prayers every day and then go back and record the answers as they receive them. We have much to shout about around here.... every single day we write down answered prayers!!

Just one example.... Jared has taught himself to play the piano. It truly seems to us like he just sat down at the thing and started playing songs... and he plays them really well! In a matter of just a few weeks he went from making little 'tink tink' noises with two fingers to playing beautiful hymns and music. Well, we have a little electric keyboard that Fred has been using to learn with and I tinker with sometimes but Jared has a hard time with it because it just doesn't play like a piano and there are no pedals and so on. He mentioned something like that to his sunday school teacher about a week ago and the teacher just shrugged and said "ask the Lord to give you piano". Jared just laughed at him and said okay... not for one minute thinking that the Lord would give him a piano. So anyway.... Friday evening a lady who traveled to the meeting we were at heard Jared sitting there playing on the piano at the church we were visiting and tells me " I didn't know he could play!" so I told her how he had just taught himself to play and she gives us a piano... Just like that God answered a prayer!

I have so many more examples of answered prayer that I could list off for you but instead I'll just say... start a prayer journal and begin spending time asking the Lord to fill the needs in your life. But don't just ask "for" things, ask what you can give as well. I won't go into detail because I don't want to seem as though I'm sounding my own horn or anything like that, but I will say that if you are willing to be used... get ready to be blessed!

Y'all have a wonderful day!
