I'm so sleepy today it's just not funny. We have some neighbors....most of them actually...who just love to make enough noise all night long to keep me on the phone with the sheriff's department at least 3 times a month. Last night it was too loud to even think about going to bed until after 1am and then no sooner than I had drifted off to sleep around 2am the thumping of the bass at the party across the road was rattling my windows and had me awake again. I finally got to bed at 6 and by then Troy was awake and felt like visiting so I didn't get any sleep until 8 this morning when he left to take the boys to the men's prayer breakfast at church. I have had a grand total of 1 1/2 hours of sleep and my body is sure letting me know that it isn't happy with it. I've been dizzy all day long! All of this on the heels of a really nasty virus that left me without a voice for 3 days! OK, now that's enough grumping out of me.
I'm really pleased with the progress I've made on all of the getting organized and decluttered mission. Things already are running so much more smoothly than they have in years and it is really showing in how the whole family functions. This week I'm trying to focus on getting my menus planned for at least two weeks....not a specific what to have at what time on each day but kind of a rough draft that will still leave me a lot of wiggle room. Can you tell that I hate to be overscheduled and love spontaneity? The goal is to be able to predict my grocery budget more easily and plan for meals without the last minute ordeal of rifling through the pantry and freezer and settling for something I really don't feel like eating because I didn't think it out any sooner. We have always kept our grocery budget really really low (between $40 and $70 a week) anyway and I'm out to pinch a few more pennies so we can get out of this neighborhood somehow.
We're also working on a better budget plan to get totally out of debt as soon as we can....that will take a lot of really hard work, quite a bit of time, and strict budget planning but we are fiercely dedicated to doing it! We really racked up a bunch of debt when I first got so sick and we had no insurance.
I also got to go to class with Troy last night!!! I am so excited about it! We are taking the 2nd half of the New Testament Survey class and the class on the book of Revelation. It was really interesting and I can't wait to go next week too. I have rearranged the kids homeschool schedules so that they each have work to do at the church on Friday evenings while Troy and I are in class....now we all go to school together.
Now if I can just convince my body to keep up with my mind I may get a lot more accomplished!!
